DESSERTS THROUGH THE DECADES

FLAVOUR COLLECTION

Little Sky brings you a collection of flavours inspired by each decade from the 1960's right through to the present. Take your taste buds on a tour of each era with show stopping flavours created from scratch.  Every two weeks we will move through another decade bringing to life the desserts that reigned supreme in that era. Let’s go!

1960’s

Welcome to the 60’s.  The era when The Beatles, moon walks and Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Baked Alaska desserts reigned supreme.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Creamy gelato folded throughout with crumby pieces of pineapple butter cake, caramelised pineapple jam, and, of course, glace cherries.

BAKED ALASKA

Little Sky’s signature beautiful vanilla gelato with ribbons of delicious raspberry jam and passionfruit jam with meringues throughout.

1970’s

Vol-au-vents, quiches and Swedish meatballs graced the dining tables across the nation and Black Forest Gateaux and Carrot cakes were all the rage for dessert.

Black Forest

Created with creamy chocolate gelato with pieces of house-made chocolate sponge soaked in kirsch cherry liqueur and thick ribbons of sour cherry jam.

CARROT CAKE

Carrot Cake is a smooth sweet cream cheese and carrot gelato studded with chunks of to-die-for house-made carrot cake.

1980’s

The 1980’s – The fashion,  the music, the movies!  And then there was Cabbage Patch Kids, Rubik’s cubes, leg warmers, mixed taps and hair crimpers (we could keep going). For dinner it was all about Apricot Chicken, Sheppard’s Pie and Tuna Moray.  And for dessert?  Lemon Meringue Pie or Sticky Date anyone?

Lemon Meringue Pie

Lemon Meringue Pie is created with creamy lemon gelato with luscious lemon curd ribbons folded throughout with crumbly buttery shortbread and meringues.

Sticky Date

Sticky Date is a to-die-for creamy date gelato with lashings of house-made butterscotch sauce.

Look out for our next flavour releases - the 1990’s!
